“Alexandra Ocasio looked stunning in her glamorous wedding dress. Just like a princess, she walked the Met Gala until she turned around. In my opinion, her ‘tax the rich’ political statement is very strong and I I agree, but because of the setting and the circumstances in which she wore it, I find it a bit ironic.

“[Maluma’s] The outfit is a wonderful combination of monochrome colors, attention to detail and old western themes. The outfit’s intricately detailed embellishments and accessories, combined with its vintage western styling, create a quintessentially American look that’s flashy and memorable.

“Billie oh my Eilish! What can I say other than gorgeous? The ‘Lost Cause’ artist was inspired by Marilyn Monroe’s 1951 Oscars wardrobe, but we all know that marked her second appearance to spark her transition into adult fashion. But let’s not forget her June 2021 Vogue magazine debut. Overall, her nude tulle gown, designed by Oscar de la Renta, was fitted with a corset, nipped-in waist, scoop neckline with bare shoulders, a full skirt and a spectacular train. It’s her forceful glamorous statement. Eilish has always loved dresses, she told Gala interviews, but felt ashamed over the years. That’s why she wore baggy clothes most of the time. However, her confidence has grown so much over the past few years that she really couldn’t be “happier than ever”.

“Lil Nas X’s outfit is stunning. Her choice of jumpsuit with black and gold embellishments screams Met Gala. Coordinating her nails to match is a nice touch to this glamorous look.

“Kim Kardashian’s outfit sparked a lot of discussion because of the ambiguity of her outfit. Was it a tribute to Kanye West’s mother, a statement about cancel culture, a nerd commentary on art? and ambiguity or maybe just a big “artistic” T-shirt? In the end, what’s more American than getting together and saying “no no, that’s definitely this what does it mean” and obsessing over all things America and talking about it online.

“Troye Sivan’s look was simple and elegant, but far from the theme of this year’s Met Gala. Although Troye defied masculinity in a black dress, juxtaposed with awkward wedge heels and simple Cartier jewelry, it was an overall flop. The high-end fashion aspect of this event was not present in Troye’s look, however, it speaks to the fast fashion craze in America.

“Rihanna’s ‘Rebel Black Ring’ look was definitely eye-catching. The Balenciaga overcoat consisted of lots of voluminous ruffles and [a] tail that really screamed “great”. The star represented black fashion and jewelry designers who deserve recognition for their efforts in their field. That, to me, is what really made the look an “All-American” look.

“Davidson’s Met Gala outfit represents another step in the evolution of style. While at one time most of his looks were his firefighter shirts, the past two years have shown his ability to take risks and show a new side of himself.

“The personalized Valentino piece [Whoopi] was wearing was an eyesore to say the least, compared to what the other participants were wearing. The wrinkles in her dress [are] not helping with the extremely bright purple and green colors and it might just be one of the worst looks of the year. All in all, it looks like she stole the outfit from a harlequin doll’s closet.

“Overall, I was surprised but not impressed with Timothée Chalamet. While his Haider Ackerman costume provided class and edge, his rising converse really [took] away from the outfit. I love the blend of shades, it’s an interesting take on the monochromatic look. Unfortunately, the sneakers don’t seem to pull the look together and leave me wondering what the suit would look like if it wasn’t paired with the Converse shoes.

“American singer and historic ‘Pose’ actress Mj Rodriguez made a statement with her edgy Victorian look at the 2021 Met Gala. The look was stunning on first sight but was a little short in its interpretation. Rodriguez wore a black Thom Browne suit with an intricate design and a white button down with balloon sleeves and a tight corset. She accented the look with Ana Khouri jewelry and bright red lipstick to match her painted nails. She completed the look with platform heels that accentuated the “drippy” illusion of the dress. Rodriguez aimed to look like a figure straight out of an oil painting, something the sculptural yet flowing structure of the costume showcased beautifully, but that was only evident upon closer inspection or reading. interviews with Rodriguez about how she wanted the look interpreted. . The theme of American independence from this year’s Met Gala was definitely understated in this look, but Rodriguez subtly captured the idea of what the future and fluidity of American fashion can be.

“Dan Levy’s outfit was memorable, to say the least. While the color combination, among other bold features, wasn’t ideal, it’s safe to say it pulled it off anyway. The outfit was meant to make a statement and it certainly served its purpose well.
