Researchers from an Iranian science-based company, working in the field of digital technology, produced software capable of scanning, designing and editing three-dimensional models of the human face, and introduced it to the market, reports Trend citing the ‘IRNA.
Mehdi Pourkaraman, the team’s project leader and scientific enterprise development manager, while focusing on the software in question, said in an exclusive interview with IRNA on Thursday that the primitive and mechanical instruments used to design and implement human limb repair services, especially in the face part, had caused wide dissatisfaction among many patients, “we decided to produce an intelligent system that can make 3D designs and show it to customers before reconstructive surgery, with great precision and without human errors”.
“This software initially prepares the scan of the client’s face in the virtual space, then identifies this three-dimensional face in the real atmosphere and matches it with other client-patient limbs with high accuracy and displays the result. before the surgery for the patient to get his approval.
The researcher said that this Iranian software has no foreign sample and it is quite an original initiation.
Pourkaraman said that the surgeon can, relying on the assistance of this software and its various precise design and measurement features, produce the best possible design for each patient’s rectified face, and then the software will automatically produce the design. 3D, which is printed using 3D printers. , and finally it is used by the surgeon or the remedial team.
He said that the ability of the software is not limited to designing the face, and for example an injured eyebrow or any other body part can be scanned and made by it at the request of the doctors and the required commands from the programmer. .
The project manager said the process is called micro-build.
