Tired of robocalls? RoboKiller is our editor’s choice to stop them

Automated calls are void. There are other ways of expressing this opinion, but we are a family-run website and I won’t go into details. Seriously, robocalls and spam calls are a huge problem and can be really annoying. This is where an app like RoboKiller comes in to stop them.

There are other apps, including services offered by your mobile operator, that do the same thing as RoboKiller, but this app is our top recommendation. I have personally been using RoboKiller for a few years now and it has gradually improved.

I don’t think it would be a stretch to say that mobile operators offering similar services have taken inspiration from this app. It should be noted that RoboKiller also blocks spam text messages which is very welcome. So let’s move on to this quick review of the RoboKiller app available for Android and iOS.

Design

The RoboKiller app is well designed and very pleasing to the eye with well-placed elements that are easy to navigate and summon. You have a choice of dark or light mode and I find dark mode to be the best for my eyes. There are three tabs at the bottom for Recent Calls, Speed Camera, and Settings.

Recent calls show you received calls, including blocked and missed calls. There are three tabs at the top of this menu for all calls, missed calls, and blocked calls. These will allow you to watch your calls in each category.

The radar tab at the bottom provides you with analytics, such as the number of spam calls blocked by RoboKiller in the last 90 days. You can also ask RoboKiller to search for any phone number in this tab to see if it has been placed on a spam or automated call list. This tab also shows you some interesting data, such as the number of spam calls from your state, top scammers in your area code, and a live stream of blocked texts from your state.

The last tab is the Settings tab, and that’s where you set up your account and other fun stuff. Here you can choose a standard or advanced block setting. Standard only blocks known spam numbers and you can choose to reply to unknown numbers. Advanced blocks all possible spammers and scans calls to check for spam before responding.

Here you can also configure call filtering which I think RoboKiller does very well. Call screening answers calls that are not from known spammers and that are not in your contact list and asks the caller to identify themselves and specify the purpose of their call. RoboKiller then displays this information on your screen and you can choose to answer or ignore the call.

RoboKiller also has Answer Bots. You can turn them on in settings and they answer spam calls in a hilarious and fun way. Answer Bots include Ice T, Biden, Trump, Dracula, Kermit the Frog, and many more. You can also go back and listen to the calls recorded by Answer Bots, fun times for all.

You can also set your block / allow list in settings, report spam numbers, suspend call blocking, use spam labels and of course make changes to the account.

Overall, the design and functionality of the app is top notch.

Friendliness

Setting up RoboKiller is very simple and the app attaches to your phone number. The good thing is that the app doesn’t block anyone on your contact list, so you don’t have to worry about blocking those calls.

When using the advanced blocking features, RoboKiller sometimes blocks legitimate numbers that are not in your contacts. For example, doctors’ offices and dental offices. To solve this problem, just add their number to your contacts or put those numbers on the don’t block list.

Overall, the use of this app is very easy. I suspect some older users may find this difficult, but having kids or grandchildren setting it up for once will fix that. Once it’s configured, you’re good to go.

RoboKiller Award

Prize value

RoboKiller comes with a 7-day free trial and then a monthly subscription of US $ 4.99 or US $ 39.99 per year. The company sometimes offers an agreement for your first year and often gives a little more on the annual commitment. Even without the deal, RoboKiller is well worth the US $ 39.99 I pay for it. You can find it on the App Store or the Play Store.

Conclude

RoboKiller is not the only spam call blocker app on the block, but it is the best spam call blocker app on the market. We’ve been using it for a few years now, and it’s excellent and well worth the annual price tag. There are similar apps, and even carriers like Verizon offer their versions. While I’m sure the others are working pretty well, RoboKiller is still the king of the hill for spam call blocker apps. We highly recommend it.
